You've been hearing about the Staffcentrix Portable Career & Virtual Assistant Training Program for Military Spouses™. Now, you can participate in the Staffcentrix T3 (Train-the-Trainer) Program™ and earn the certification required to deliver our Portable Career Program™ yourself!

With the Staffcentrix T3 Program™, you can learn to deliver our high-quality, proven Portable Career & Virtual Assistant Training Program™ to spouses at your base. When you opt for T3, you will attend an intensive three-day workshop that offers plenty of “hands-on” time using facilitator tools and participating in practice teaching sessions.

The mobility requirements of a modern military can place a severe burden on the career and employment prospects of the service member's spouse. The spouse's sacrifice and the resulting diminished revenues directly impact the family's economic and psychological quality of life, and raise critical issues involving recruitment, retention, and readiness. Frequent moves, remote locations, and heavy competition don't exactly create an ideal environment for traditional employment solutions.

Advances in telecommunications and the evolution of corporate outsourcing toward the "virtual" model-as the burgeoning Virtual Assistant industry demonstrates-have finally converged to create a viable and portable career choice for the transient military family: the Military Spouse Virtual Assistant, or MSVA.

We now offer two Programs which you may find of interest -- one for spouses (MSVA Program) and one for spouse employment professionals (T3 Program).

Registration & Materials Fee

ANNOUNCEMENT JANUARY 2009

As we enter 2009, we're extending our offer of free Train-the-Trainer Certification to any Spouse Employment Professional who would like to deliver the MSVA Program.

TRAIN-THE-TRAINER / NEW TRAINER CERTIFICATION - FREE FOR 2009!!
For 2009, we will not be delivering our T3 Program in person, but rather we have decided to make our Facilitator's Guide & Script available to any spouse employment professional who is interested in delivering the program. This will eliminate TDY-related costs.

The 158-page manual can be downloaded in a Microsoft Word document at no charge.

We will ask that the trainer sign an agreement that they will not alter the materials, share with our competitors, or sell our trademarked intellectual property, and fax it back to us.

To request a copy of the Facilitator's Guide & Script, please contact me directly at cdurst (AT) staffcentrix.com.

MILITARY SPOUSE (PARTICIPANT) LEARNING GUIDES - $350 for 12-month license to reprint unlimited copies (2009)

In keeping with the updates to the Facilitator's Guide & Script, we have also overhauled the Student Learning Guides.

We will no longer be keeping an inventory of Student Learning Kits as the spoilage rate, and costs of printing limited runs are fiscally impractical as we have to pass our costs along to you.

Instead, we are offering very favorably-priced "REPRINT LICENSES" that will allow you to reproduce as many copies as you need on-demand. The license is good for a 12-month period and there is no limit as to the number of reprints you may produce for YOUR BASE (licenses are not to be shared with other bases).

To place an order for a reprint license, please contact me directly at cdurst (AT) staffcentrix.com.

THE 2-SECOND COMMUTE
Our book, The 2-Second Commute - Join the Exploding Ranks of Freelance Virtual Assistants, can still be purchased through us for $12/copy (including S&H) or through Amazon.com for $10.19/copy.

THE HOME-BASED CAREER & TELEWORK JOB DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Our Home-Based Career & Telework Job Development Program has been wonderfully successful, and will continue on course for 2009!

This program is open to ALL DEERS CARD HOLDERS and focuses on methods for finding legitimate home-based jobs on the Internet.

For more on this budget-friendly one-day program,
please contact me directly at cdurst (AT) staffcentrix.com.

It is our sincere hope that these program and pricing changes will help you as you continue in your efforts to bring the best programs to your spouse community in spite of changing budgets.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you should have any questions or if you'd like to purchase or request materials.

Make it a wonderful day!

Best,

Chris Durst

PDF FILEPortable Careers and Employment: A Multi-Service Survey of Active-duty Military Spouses
This document contains the results of a survey conducted by Staffcentrix of its Military Spouse members during a 2-week period from February 24 – March 10, 2003.

The survey was conducted via email, and asked spouses to provide the following data by means of a brief, Web-based form:

  • Service member spouse’s branch & rank
  • The estimated (i.e., perceived) unemployment rate at the spouse’s duty station
  • Whether the spouse is employed/unemployed/underemployed
  • Spouse replies to this question: “If you were joining us in a meeting with Spouse Employment Program managers, what would you say to them about "Portable Careers" and/or about spouse employment generally?”
This survey is not intended to represent an in-depth examination of portable career issues, but rather a “snapshot” of current attitudes and perceptions among a cross-section of officers’ and enlisted members’ spouses internationally. Click here to download
